New Orleans Museum of Art

We had a great time visiting NOMA with some of our seniors last week. We loved the special exhibits, especially A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes

After touring the museum we walked around the sculpture garden and ate lunch in City Park. It turned out to be a gorgeous day!

Did you know that NOMA admission is FREE for Louisiana residents on Wednesdays and free EVERY DAY for teenagers?! Go check it out and let us know what you think!

Design Day @ Tulane School of Architecture

Thank you to the National Organization of Minority Architects Students of Tulane University for hosting some of our students for a day focused on design and architecture.

Students spent the morning learning about site analysis and drawing to scale, and creating an original design for a pavilion on Tulane’s campus. In the afternoon they had the chance to build a physical model of their design. They also toured the architecture building and heard several guest speakers talk about the architecture profession and how design is apparent in our everyday lives.

NOMAS-TU will likely hold a similar event next year, and we hope even more students will join! If you are interested, check out Project Pipeline, a workshop held during the summer for high school students interested in architecture and design.

ACT Boot Camp: RECAP and FUTURE DATES

For those of you who missed it, we will have another ACT Boot Camp on APRIL 7th. It will be an extended Saturday session at UNO (9am-3pm) with a lunch break in the middle and buses home at the end of the day. In the meantime, here are some tips to get you started: English Tips & Math Tips
